Marielle has worked as a nature guide since 2019 with the company The Reindeer Herd. She has received a cultural award ”Svenska samers kulturpris” for her work for spreading knowledge about the Sámi culture in a socially sustainable way.
She is the youngest generation of a reindeer-herding family, where reindeer husbandry has been the main livelihood for over 14 generations.
”It is important to me that visitors have the opportunity to experience an authentic cultural environment. My vision is that Mettäjärvi is a hidden gem where visitors can connect with reindeer and immerse themselves in a new culture with a local guide.”
